Our History

Bryant Baptist Church was established in 1865 by our forefathers.  We can only imagine that they started services with a small but faithful band of worshipers who all attended Hush Harbor or Bush Harbor worship services in secret.  This small but faithful group let the Word of God provide the light to guide their path in the establishment of our church.  We thank God for these men and women who placed their faith in God.

Over the many years God has provided many Pastors, and three churches on this site, each church improving upon the last.  The men and women who trusted in God completed these great tasks and did not pass on debt to the next generation. The Pastors of these churches provided the word of God to the congregation as they navigated challenging times over these many years.

After 5 years without a Pastor, on February 3, 2023, the Reverend James B. Hill of Capron, Virginia was installed as Pastor of Bryant Baptist Church!  We thank God for him and his family as we look toward the next chapter of Bryant's.
